The National Statistics Office of Mongolia (NSO) and the Statistics Bureau (SBJ) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of the Government of Japan (MIC) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in February, 2017. Within the framework of this cooperation, H.E. Mr. Kenji Harada, Vice Minister, MIC, is paying an official visit to Mongolia at the invitation of Ms. Ariunzaya Ayush, Chairperson of the NSO.
Mr. Kenji Harada, along with his delegation, arrived in Mongolia yesterday. In addition to his visit to the NSO, he will have meetings with Mr. D. Terbishdagva, a Member of the Parliament of Mongolia and Chair of Economic Standing Committee of the Parliament, Mr. S. Byambatsogt, a Member of the Parliament of Mongolia and Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs of the Government of Mongolia, and Ms. B. Battsetseg, Vice Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia. This year marks the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Apart from H.E. Mr. Kenji Harada, H.E. Mr. Takaoka Masato, Japan’s Ambassador to Mongolia, along with other delegates from the Embassy of Japan, and Mr. Yoichi Inagaki, Director for Planning, General Affairs Division, SBJ, are participating in the visit. The cooperation between the NSO and the SBJ started from 2005 and both sides have agreed to collaborate in the fields of censuses, surveys, and analyses, and enhance the human resource capability.
