The Association of National Census and Statistics Directors of America, Asia and the Pacific (ANCSDAAP) held the 29th Population Census Conference in Da Nang, Vietnam on July 11-13, 2018. The 29th Population Census Conference was organized under the topic of “Innovative Approaches to enhance the Quality of the 2020 Round of Census” and delegates from national statistical offices have participated. The conference had 10 sessions and delegates from NSO led the session on “Dissemination of Population Census Data”.
The mission of the Association is to foster communication and cooperation for the collection and analysis of comprehensive statistical information on human populations and their behavior. Thus far in its history, the Association's major activity has been the series of conferences that are conducted at intervals of approximately 1.5 to 2 years.
During the conference, the association’s board of directors appointed Ms. Ariunzaya Ayush, Chairperson of NSO, as the President of ANCSDAAP and the 30th Population Census Conference is planned to be organized in Ulaanbaatar. In past, Mongolia organized the 20th Population Census Conference in 2000 and 26th Population Census Conference in 2006.
On a side note, Mongolia conducts its Population and Housing Census in every 10 years according to Mongolian Law on Statistics and next census is planned to be conducted in January, 2020.
