Ms. Ariunzaya Ayush, Chairperson of the NSO Mongolia met with Ms. Naomi Kitahara, Country Representative for United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Mongolia, in connection with the expiry of her term of office.
The NSO Mongolia has been collaborating with the UNFPA since 1972. The UNFPA made great contribution to strengthening the capacity of the NSO Mongolia. In particular, projects and programs of the UNPFA provided substantial support in collecting and processing statistical data through international standards and methodologies and disseminated results to users. Namely, Gender –Based Violence Survey have presented the report on nation-wide, MICS conducted in every 5 years and continues to improve the results of the survey.
Moreover, we have jointly organized "Umnugobi aimag Social, Economic and Environmental study" and further working on preparation of Population and Housing Census 2020 supported by UNFPA.
Ms. Ariunzaya Ayush, Chairperson of the National Statistics Office of Mongolia expressed gratitude with the outcomes of the long lasting partnership with UNFPA, and in recognition of her tangible contribution for development of the statistical system of Mongolia, she awarded Ms. Naomi Kitahara with the title “Leading Personnel of Registration and Statistics”
Ms. Naomi Kitahara expressed gratitude for achievements of the projects and programs implemented by two organizations and emphasized the role of NSO Mongolia in the global statistical system.
